A wedding workshop at High Rocks

A few months ago I stumbled upon a group on Facebook for "young" photographers to share their knowledge and what little experience they had with each other. Even though we had diverse backgrounds, as gig photographers, fashion photographers and family & lifestyle photographers, there was a distinct leaning towards wedding photography, and particularly wedding photography in Kent. So what better than to get together at High Rocks in Kent, and have a day shooting a mock wedding without the hassle and tight timeline and "Uncle Bobs" of a real wedding day?

I'd been to a couple of photography workshops before, and even though I had come away with usable images, I didn't really get what I wanted out of the days. This day was different, because basically it was a bunch of like-minded people getting together to network, learn some tips & tricks, and perhaps try a few new things out in the arena of wedding photography. I didn't shoot a great deal, but I did learn a lot about the wedding business and photography techniques, and I met a whole bunch of nice, friendly and helpful people along the way. Below are a selection of images from that day, and perhaps there'll be a follow-up post of outtakes if you're lucky!

Thanks to Nichola and Marcus for being our model couple.
